Bruce Power (Bruce Power Scholarships Board) is dedicated to making investments in the neighborhood and the future. In order to help local students achieve their goals, we are awarding $50,000 in post-secondary school scholarships. you are required to submit an application for one of 100, $500 scholarships if you are a post-secondary student in Bruce, Grey, or Huron counties who plans to pursue post-secondary education in the upcoming academic year. The Bruce Power scholarships application period will start in June, and the recipients will be notified in July. Only submissions made using the online form will be considered. For students studying full-time in a program of study leading to a certification from an accredited community or technical college or institute, including skilled trades apprenticeships, Bruce Power offers 35 scholarships per year.
Overview of Bruce Power Scholarships
Bruce Power scholarships Board advises all post-secondary students in Bruce, Grey, or Huron counties who plan to enroll in post-secondary education for the 2022–2023 academic year to submit an application for one of 100 $500 scholarships between May 16 and June 17, 2022.
Bruce Power Scholarships Eligibility
For one to be eligible for Bruce Power scholarships’ offer, such applicants must must provide proof of:
- Fall enrollment in a post-secondary program that has been accredited.
- Show a Bruce, Grey, or Huron County residency (or that of their immediate family – parents or guardians)
- Reapplication for the Bruce Power Post-Secondary Scholarship is not permitted.
INELIGIBILITY: Bruce Power Scholarships are no longer available to students who have previously received the award.
Bruce Power Scholarships Scholarship Allocation
The distribution of the 100 Bruce Power scholarships among the pool of applicants will go as follows:
- 40 scholarships – available to students who are enrolled full-time in a university degree-granting program
- 35 scholarships – available to students enrolled full-time in a course of study resulting to a certification from a reputable community college, technical institute, or skilled trades school
- 15 scholarships – Available to anybody who identifies as belonging to a diverse group and is enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program, including people who are disabled, Indigenous, or visible minorities.
- 10 scholarships – This offer is available for special consideration Students (see below) in any form of full-time post-secondary courses.
Special Considerations
In this funding area, a number of categories will be taken into consideration.
- Graduate students are those enrolled in graduate-level coursework, such as master’s, doctoral, or postgraduate certificate programs.
- Students that are first generation are those whose parents did not pursue post-secondary education. College or university studies are considered post-secondary education. For this particular consideration, a verification letter signed by a parent or legal guardian is needed.
- Students who are currently, or were prior to turning eighteen, Ontario Crown wards are known as current or former wards. This special consideration requires proof of ward status.
- Mature Students (30 years or older) — A student who is returning to school or pursuing post-secondary degrees via correspondence or online and is considered a mature student due to life circumstances Retraining after being laid off or hurt, returning to work after caring for children or an elderly dependent, or finishing a degree or certificate program they started earlier in life are a few examples.

Application Process
A committee of Bruce Power employees and union representatives will review all applications and select recipients in each of the granting areas. Each recipient will be contacted directly by July 31 and a celebration event will be held at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre for all scholarship winners and their families.
All applications will be evaluated and grantees in each of the grant areas will be chosen by a committee made up of Bruce Power staff members and union representatives. By July 15, each recipient will be contacted immediately.
